Top Level Domain Holdings Appoints Industry Veteran to Executive Chairman

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain development, marketing, and technology provider Top Level Domain Holdings (www.tldh.org) announced on Monday it has appointed industry veteran Peter Dengate Thrush its executive chairman.

Dengate Thrush was most recently chairman of the board of directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (www.icann.org).

Last month, Dengate Thrush led the ICANN Board to approve the program to create new gTLDs.

He is actively involved in international policy development and governance of the Internet. He is also a past chair of InternetNZ, as well as the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association.

As a barrister and registered patent attorney who specializes in Internet, intellectual property and technology cases, Dengate Thrush is vice chairman of the New Zealand Electricity Rulings Panel and a member of the New Zealand Copyright Tribunal.

Peter and I have worked together as ICANN participants since its inception, and I am very pleased to welcome him as our executive chairman,” said Antony Van Couvering, CEO of TLDH. “Peter championed successfully the approval of the new gTLD programme at the highest levels and with Peter on board I have every confidence we will achieve the same success at TLDH. Rounding out the rest of TLDH’s board of directors is CEO Antony Van Couvering, chief strategy officer and deputy chairman Fred Krueger, chief invesnon-executive director Clark Landry, and non-executive director Michael Mendelson.

With this appointment, Dengate Thrush has been awarded over 15 million ordinary shares at an exercise price of $0.13 per ordinary share.
