Corporate Update – Minds + Machines Chosen As Registry Provider for .MUMBAI
As previously announced on 21 March 2011, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (“ICANN”) Board of Directors resolved at its meeting in San Francisco that concluded on 18 March 2011 that it intended to complete the process for final approval of the new generic top-level domains (“gTLDs”) implementation program at an extraordinary meeting of the ICANN Board to be held on Monday, 20 June 2011, at the next ICANN public meeting in Singapore.
If the new gTLD program is approved as planned in June, the Directors of TLDH expect that the window for new gTLD applications will open in September or October of 2011. The Directors believe that Company and its subsidiary, Minds + Machines, is well positioned for the forthcoming new gTLD program.
Since March the Company has continued to prepare for the launch of gTLDs and the Board is delighted that Minds + Machines, a wholly owned subsidiary of TLDH, has been appointed by India TL Domain Pvt Ltd (“ITLD”), with the exclusive approval of the city of Mumbai, to provide registry and consulting services for ITLD’s proposed application for the generic top-level domain .MUMBAI.
